Founded in 1972 by master-artist Nana Shineflug CMC is celebrated for its continued artistic risk-taking innovation and a powerful performance style. The company is recipient of four Choreographic Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts Illnois Arts Council Choreographic Fellowships the Katherine Dunham Award for Excellence and Dedication to the Arts the Chicago Dance Award and a MetLife New Stages for Dance II Award among many other honors.
